Recycling. Driving energy efficient cars. Turning the heat down. There are lots of ways to fight climate change. But it’s by turning the heat up on decision makers at an international level that we can make the biggest difference. In the run-up to the Copenhagen Climate Change Conference in December 2009, we’re stepping up our climate change campaign. We want people to do something about it – Here & Now.

The role
As an intern with us, you’ll have a huge part to play in the success of Here & Now – one of our biggest ever campaigns. Your role will be varied; you might be organising and communicating campaign information to our many activists and alliances, or maintaining the databases that hold their contact details. It could be that your helping build long-term relationships with existing supporters, or making sure all that we do is publicised in the right format and the right media. Either way, this is an excellent opportunity for anyone keen to really make a difference and gain experience in the charity sector. You can also expect to be involved in other campaigns, including ‘Health & Education For All’.

What we’re looking for
Whilst campaigning experience isn’t essential, being calm under pressure and having good organisational and admin skills is. Confident, flexible and positive in your approach, you’ll quickly be able to assimilate complex information and turn it into a compelling argument, both verbally and in writing. We’ll also be looking for good IT skills and the ability to work both individually and as part of a team. It goes without saying that you’re as fired up as we are about fighting climate change and overcoming poverty, and you’ll be able to commit to three days a week for six months on a voluntary basis.
