Certification Officer (Producers) - The Soil Association

As part of our successful ongoing restructure and expansion, we are seeking an organic Certification Officer to join a dedicated team delivering certification services to farmers and growers. You will be responsible for effective account management of a portfolio of organic farmers with a diverse range of production systems.

After an initial training period, you will provide an outstanding service to a portfolio of licensees including answering enquiries from customers and taking calls from potential customers.

Although this role is mainly office based you will be required to make occasional account management visits to build good customer relationships.  In addition you will process organic farm reports and identify any areas that require corrective action and approval.

The successful candidate will preferably have a BSc/HND in agriculture/horticulture, along with practical experience in agriculture and a good understanding of the principles of organic food and farming.  Excellent written skills, a confident approach to service delivery and the ability to provide solutions within tight deadlines, whilst ensuring adherence to Soil Association organic standards are essential.

Salary: 

starting at c£17,500 increasing to £23,250 after training
