Technical Director – Ecometrics, Land Use & Forestry to £80k + bonus + bens

Based: Edinburgh although location is flexible

The Technical Director – Ecometrics, Land Use & Forestry will build and develop the practice, provide business and technical leadership and develop the existing team delivering emissions analysis to a diverse range of clients to help optimise Carbon Management strategies. 

The Technical Director – Ecometrics, Land Use & Forestry will also lead Business Development activity working closely with both existing and new clients to understand their issues and develop solutions to address these. The Technical Director – Ecometrics, Land Use & Forestry will also have a strategic role to ensure the company is well placed to respond to the evolving post-Kyoto position regarding land use and forestry. 

Our client is a world leader in ecometrics and greenhouse gas ( GHG ) emissions assessment. The company has the largest dedicated team of analysts in the world and recently completed its 1000^th emissions assessment. 

The successful candidate for the role of Technical Director – Ecometrics, Land Use & Forestry will have considerable market presence and significant experience in the application of ecometrics, land use and forestry, such as tropical silviculture and / or agroforestry. Experience of terrestrial carbon project feasibility assessment, design, management, monitoring and evaluation will be advantageous, as will knowledge of the quantification and prediction of carbon uptake and storage in terrestrial carbon projects and forest products. 

The Technical Director – Ecometrics, Land Use & Forestry will have an inclusive management style, the ability to synthesise ideas and formulate, shape and manage projects, with excellent attention to quality and detail. The role demands adaptability, resourcefulness, clear thinking and excellent interpersonal skills, together with a willingness to travel internationally when required.
