Volunteer Oxfam Speaker - Oxfam

Description:

Would you like to share your passion for Oxfam’s work with young people across the South West? Do you have the skills to engage and inspire young people to take action?

We are currently recruiting volunteers to deliver at least one presentation in a local school per month for one year.

Oxfam Speakers are volunteers trained to deliver presentations and workshops in local schools and youth groups, and build teachers’ and young peoples’ engagement with Oxfam’s vision of global citizenship. You can learn more about Oxfam’s GB’s education work at www.oxfam.org.uk/education

New speakers attend residential training and our regional youth and schools campaigners provide speakers with ongoing support and advice.

Working with young people is highly rewarding. Participation in the programme helps develop speakers’ communication and presentation skills and provides an exciting opportunity to represent Oxfam’s work to the youth and schools audience.

Please get in touch if you have any queries about the role. Successful applicants will attend training in September or October 2009.
